Energy storage is poised to be a game-changer for the smart grid that will be deployed in the coming years and can be a key component of our sustainable energy future.
Energy storage resources can increase the reliability of the delivery of electricity and enhance grid stability by providing additional tools and flexibility to match actual demand and generation. They can also reduce system costs by providing ancillary services, such as frequency regulation, more efficiently. Finally, and perhaps most importantly for our sustainable energy future, energy storage systems can also enable greater integration of renewables onto the electric grid by smoothing and time-shifting that renewable power, if necessary.
Despite claims that energy cannot be stored, there are a number of energy storage systems that are commercially viable and available on the market today, including projects in Texas, and many new technologies and companies are aggressively entering the market.
Register today for the Energy Storage Forum and find out what companies are winning market share in an industry that is projected to grow $125B globally and hear from experts on state and federal rule changes that are in play and challenges that may need to be to make energy storage a valuable part of the our nation’s sustainable energy future.
